C5 Network has launched an all-new ‘All Creatures Great And Small’ that will air from September 1, 2020. However, fans want to know about what happened to the original cast of ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ that aired on BBC One. BBC 1 used to air ‘All Creatures Great & Small’ as their Sunday night drama. One can say that before BBC1’s ‘Pride and Prejudice’, there was ‘All Creatures Great and Small’.
The original show first premiered back in 1978 and ran successfully for seven seasons. It followed a family of vets and their personal and professional lives. The series was based on the books authored Alf Wright, a renowned British vet, who used ‘James Herriot’ as his pseudo-name. The new cast includes Sam West, Anna Madeley, and Rachel Shenton.
Christopher Timothy, who played the role of James Herriot, was later seen in BBC1 ‘Doctors’ in 2000. In 2017, he appeared as Ted Murray in ‘EastEnders’. He has been most recently seen in ‘Kate & Koji’, an ITV comedy drama. Robert Hardy played the role of Siegfried Farnonans most of will remember him as Cornelius Fudge from ‘Harry Potter’. Hardy has appeared in movies like ‘Sense & Sensibility’ and ‘Frankenstein’.
Robert dies at 91 in 2017. Carol Drinkwater played the role of Helen Herriot. She continued to appear in shows all through the 80s and 90s. She became an author later. Lynda Bellingham played Helen Herriot and made her final appearance in ‘Loose Women’. Lynda died of cancer in 2014.
