Why do you think Netflix first released ‘Love Is Blind’ and later came up with shows like ‘The Circle’ and ‘Too Hot To Handle’? Well, the answer is simple. The best marketing strategy is to understand the audience and what they like. Once you do that, give them more of it. This might just be the intention behind Netflix offering us ‘Million Dollar Beach House’ following the success of real estate drama, ‘Selling Sunset’.
‘Million Dollar Beach House’, as the name suggests, is about selling extremely lavish and luxurious beach houses of Hamptons in New York. The Nest Seekers real estate agency does their best to procure awesome deals for their clients who want the best ocean views from their patio.
However, regardless of how similar the shows sound, they are very different. ‘Selling Sunset’, apart from selling grand properties also deal with the real life drama of Oppenheim Group’s real estate agents. The entire drama, real fights, and weddings are spared in ‘Million Dollar Beach House’.
Despite the low-level drama quotient, the show has receives backlashes from viewers. Noel Roberts, an agent on the show, is the Black guy in the series. And, the MDBH was too quick to portray him as the villain for his assertiveness. People are not liking the low-key racism and let’s see how this goes for the show.
